Fee based, emergency shelter for families. They are located at 830 Boulevard
near Grant Park and house up to 12 families.
Shelter is provided for single women with children, single men with
children and married couples with children. Married couples must show their
marriage certificate. Adults must
already have employment and pay 30% of their monthly earnings for rent. Intake
is done by appointment. Upon leaving the shelter, families will receive 25% of
their money back.

ill which currently houses 76 residents. To
qualify, a person must suffer from persistent
severe mental illness and have been homeless for at
least six months. Residents
are offered medical help and counseling
and get private rooms with their own keys.
They pay 30 percent of their
incomes and/or government entitlements.
Those without incomes pay nothing until they
find jobs or get benefits.

Ministers to prostitutes, drug addicts, runaways and the homeless. Services offered include a preschool,
pregnancy center, a runaway shelter and

Transitional housing located at 169 Trinity (near the Garnet MARTA station).
Some people stay for one night, others stay for months as they save up money
to get back on their feet. The Recovery Center costs $7 per night and has both
bunk beds and regular beds. They
do not provide food or clothing. Check
in is at 11 p.m. and beds are available on a first come first serve basis.
Personal belongings will be locked in a central room and available the next
day.

Provides permanent low-income housing for single, mentally ill adults. (This
is not a shelter). They offer studio apartments and shared apartments with
separate bedrooms. Requirements:
Applicants need to have been diagnosed with a mental illness. Direct call ins
and referrals are accepted.

program - the Renewal Project- that provides both immediate safety and

Employment readiness program located on 255 Peters St., SW. corner. They
provide job seekers with nice clothes, showers, tokens for interviews,
interview training, and resume assistance. Other services include access to
telephones, laser printed resumes, substance abuse counseling and assistance
in finding low income housing. Clients must be referred by a church or other
organization and are required to attend a Monday orientation. Hours are from 7
a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays with limited service on weekends. For three dollars
per month, walk-ins can set up their own voice mail. Their phones are also
available for walk-ins from 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
