Quality Care For Children (GA)
Child care referral, free BOOST scholarships  including low cost or subsidized child care, plus helps pay for child care for families in a crisis. Also helps child care providers.

The Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS)
Georgia assistance to low income families with the cost of child care. Currently, a partnership between the Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) and the Division of Human Services (DHS) ensures that CAPS eligibility determination and on-going case management are available in all 159 counties. Families may apply for subsidized child care at Georgia Gateway.

Family caregivers may qualify for free respite support where trained caretakers can watch your dependents while you have a few hours to yourself. Some states provide respite services to:
Family caregivers providing care for individuals age 60 or older;
Family caregivers providing care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders, regardless of age; or
Grandparents and other relative caregivers (not parents) 55 years of age and older providing care to children under age 18; or age 18-59.

Provides day care for kids of the homeless and helps parents find jobs and housing.  They also have a referral service for those seeking help with drugs and alcohol.

Child Care Referral Service that helps parents find the right family child care provider or day care center.  Through a computer search they can locate nearby centers open at odd hours or find providers that offer special services.  Fees are based on the parents’ income and range from $10-$50.  Low income parents are charged nothing.

Provides short-term care in people’s homes for children at risk of being abused or neglected and whose parents need respite.  They may be children of drug addicts who need a month of care while their mothers are in drug treatment or children of homeless parents who need temporary quarters.

Our House (770) 378-0938
Offers free day care for homeless children while their parents  look for jobs and housing.  Children at Our House range from 2 months to 5 years and the center can care for up to 42 children at a time.  Children can stay at the center for up to four months and will receive health services, clothing and three meals a day. All applicants must come from the Metro Atlanta area and must be referred by a shelter or non-profit agency.

Individuals 3 years of age and older who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability may be eligible.
